The Assessment & Referral Call Specialist responsibilities include the following:

• Receive referral calls, obtain demographic information, and refer the call to the appropriate source or schedule an assessment. P
• Process all requests for information and external referrals.
• Completes pre-certifications as needed.
• Assist in arranging for admission of patients, including alerting the business office staff to begin the verification of benefits, initiating calls to physicians, patient belongings and other related tasks as directed by the Case Manager.
• Determine what Releases of Information are needed, and process them accordingly, per policy.
• Assist in obtaining needed records and information.
• Assist in maintaining all statistics; provide support to the Outcome Study, and other data, as assigned.
• Maintains good communication with the Utilization Review, Business Office, and other staff as indicated.
• Maintains log of received calls and disposition of the calls, and other informational tools as assigned.
• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma required with a preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Human-related field.

Experience: At least one (1) year of experience working in a psychiatric hospital intake department or business office preferred.

Schedule: Full Time - 3 days a week 12 hr. Day shifts.
