As the Academic Editor, you use outstanding reading, writing, editing, and proofreading skills to perform substantive revising, editing, copyediting, fact checking, and quality assurance for ACE courses, programs, and related college publishing projects. You specialize in refining and polishing work written for scholarly and academic purposes and assure the flow of the writing, fact check and revise for content accuracy, and correct mechanical, grammatical, sentence structure, and other errors. As needed, you create original documents required for various course, program, and other publishing activities. You work collaboratively with the ACE Curriculum Development and Production team members to ensure the quality of ACE courses, programs, and related publishing products.

Day to Day Responsibilities
In this role you will wear different hats, but your skills will be especially essential in the following areas:
- Uses advanced English skills to revise, edit, copyedit, fact check, and quality assure high-quality ACE courses, programs, and related publishing projects.
- Uses editing and writing expertise to assure the consistent quality of ACE courses, programs, and related publishing products.
- Supports the Curriculum Development and Production team in editing course components and providing quality assurance expertise for development and finished products.
- Writes additional course components and other materials as needed.
- Possesses advanced technology skills and is knowledgeable of the course build process in the blueprinting and learning management system (LMS).
- Assists in the preparation of course and program materials, college reports, proposals, and applications
- Collaborates with members of the Curriculum Development and Production team to create high- quality courses and programs and to promote positive working relationships with team members.
- Applies American Psychological Association (APA) and other style guides as required for citations and references in courses.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above and/or related experience in academic writing-editing across disciplines.
- 3-5 plus years of technology experience related to publishing.
- Experience with a learning management system (LMS) preferred.
- Strong writing and editing skills; love of the written word.
- Advanced English skills.
- Ability to apply high-level editing and writing skills to refine course and program components across disciplines efficiently and with high quality.
- Experience in K-12 or higher education curriculum development preferred.
