Job Summary:

The Account Manager— Americas is responsible for driving sales growth and managing customer relationships for SunTech Medical in the Americas with an emphasis on LATAM for all product lines. Achieve assigned sales quotas and manage expenses to budget.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support exiting sales channels throughout the territory (U.S.A., Canada & LATAM) while searching for new partners for all finished device lines in all countries,
  • Manage the relationships closely and provide complete support.
  • Monitor performance and adjust strategy accordingly.
  • Continually evaluate the performance of existing distributors while at the same time establish relationships with new distributors where needed.
  • Support existing established OEM partners. Identify new prospective OEM partners throughout the assigned territory for the OEM blood pressure modules.
  • Execute and maintain current Agreements with all customers; keeping them current and posted in CRM.
  • Identify and approach Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) to negotiate the purchasing of all of our product lines, concentrating on our BP cuffs.
  • Implement a plan to successfully launch any new product released.
  • Track and record all sales activities in CRM, Salesforce. Work closely with Customer Service to assure all necessary information is received, processed and customers’ orders ship accurately.
  • Provide input and suggestions to SunTech internal teams regarding customer feedback and market trends in the Americas.
  • Help to manage:
  • price lists used by the Finished Goods group
  • sales promotions
  • web leads and incoming calls for product information.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to develop marketing campaigns, trade shows and various promotional activities. Attend shows as directed.
  • Optimize and economize travel expenses to stay within assigned expense budgets and generate maximum return on the travel investment.
  • Develop direct KOL relationships with prominent clinicians and/or MOH committees to influence changes to clinical practice and tender specifications favorable to SunTech products
  • Identify potential KOLs for clinical trials and white papers, clinical seminars, etc.
  • Develop deep relationships within distributor partner organizations. Travel to end-user locations with distributor sales & marketing representatives to lead by example with product demonstrations and show manufacturer support of the distributor.
  • Use Account Management concepts within OEM accounts to identify new business opportunities.
  • Complete all required reports and assignments on time.

Physical Requirements:

Work is performed in the field and the candidate must be able to routinely handle a container of demonstration equipment and samples weighing up to 35 lbs in addition to personal luggage and laptop. Visits to customers in developing world nations could require climbing stairs with demonstration equipment and samples. There may be high temperature and humidity. In certain countries field visits to cities at high altitudes (La Paz, Bolivia, or Bogotá, Colombia for example) could be required. Candidate must be able to withstand long flights in economy class.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Management or other relevant discipline, or a clinical degree combined with business experience.

Language Requirement:

  • Native or near native fluency in Latin American Spanish (listening and reading comprehension, speaking without accent, and writing) required.
  • Strong fluency in Brazilian Portuguese (listening and reading comprehension, speaking, and basic writing) strongly preferred.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of international medical device sales (distribution, OEM or both) in Latin America with demonstrated success, or 4+ years of proven success in domestic medical device sales—including managing distributors—with a strong desire to enter International Sales.

Travel Requirement:

  • Up to 50% to support existing sales channels, attend tradeshows and prospect for new customers plus occasional visits to SunTech corporate HQ (Subject to any international travel restrictions)

Location Requirement:

  • The candidate can reside anywhere in the eastern half of the U.S.A. near a major international airport.
