About the position
The Staff Accountant is vital to the Finance and Accounting team and must be an enthusiastic, professional, and goal-oriented individual. This person will be tasked with two primary functions: (1) Ensuring the order to cash process is performed in accordance with Company policies and procedures, and (2) Recording accounting transactions in accordance with US GAAP. The Staff Accountant's responsibilities will also include financial close tasks and advising on general accounting matters. The position is detail-oriented and requires efficiency and accuracy.
Applicants must hold U.S (United States). citizen or U.S. permanent resident status.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be the primary individual responsible for the order to cash process including, creating sales orders, invoicing new deals and renewals, setting up revenue arrangements in accordance with ASC 606, review of professional service SOWs, issuing credit memos, and recognizing cash collections
- Act as the main point of contact in collecting past due receivables and managing the Dunning process
- Assist with the annual, quarterly, and month end close process and record transactions in compliance with US GAAP; primary transactions include bi-monthly payroll, accrual accounting, lease accounting, depreciation and amortization, expense amortization, and equity
- Coordinate with the sales department to complete RFPs on a timely basis
- Work with external auditors related to the annual financial audit and address data requests
- Maintain accounting system integrity and strong internal controls
- Manage new hire, vendor, customer, and project onboarding in Netsuite
- Ensure compliance related to sales tax with the Director of Global Tax
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed
- Review of procurement transactions and work with the Accounting team to ensure financials are prepared accurately each month
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 2+ years' experience in accounting
- High degree of attention to detail
- Proven ability to independently identify and analyze problems/issues, assess risk, evaluate potential solutions, and recommend a course of action
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Proficient Microsoft Office knowledge and skills
- Ability to work independently under limited supervision and prioritize tasks
- Experience with Netsuite a plus
- CPA a plus
COMPENSATION
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
