ZeeBooks provides bookkeeping services for HorsePower Brands franchisees that operate in the home service industry. These companies range from roofing contractors to glass and electrical lighting installation.

This role will act as the personal bookkeeper for 15-20 small business owners. You will be responsible for categorizing expenses on bank and credit card accounts, recording revenue and cash receipts, along with finalizing bi-weekly payroll for these clients

Essential Functions:

  • Categorize 50-150 bank and credit card transactions monthly
  • Entering AP for large vendors
  • Record GL activity from clients CRM (Customer Resource Management) software platforms
  • Reconciling merchant payments taken in the CRM
  • Perform bank account and credit card reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Comprehend industry specific company activities to ensure consistent financial statements
  • Final review payroll through third party applications
  • Effectively communicate to franchise owners via Microsoft Outlook and/or Teams
  • MS Teams and SharePoint proficiency is a plus

Work Environment:

This job operates in an office environment and relies on the Office 365 tools.

Position Type/Expected hours worked:

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. (flexible start/end times) unless otherwise specified. Regular, punctual and consistent attendance is required.

Requirements:

  • Accounting knowledge and principals is critical
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily duties
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a broader team
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Be comfortable asking for help when you have exhausted all your proposed solutions
  • Proficient in English (oral and written)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate computer software skills, including Office 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook)
  • NetSuite accounting software a plus, but not required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Accounting or Finance degree
