The basics of this position:

Performs duties necessary to complete accounting transactions by analyzing, tabulating, and balancing various accounts to ensure financial records are kept current and accurate.

What you'll do:

  • May processes paperwork for bills that are properly authorized and documented to
    ensure payment is made on a timely basis.
    • May encumbers monies needed to pay contracts and utility bills.
    • May maintains Accounts Payable Document files to ensure files are current and accurate.
    • May assists various departments of the District and outside vendors to resolve problems regarding payment of invoices; follows up on aging invoices to identify reasons invoices are unpaid.
    • May assist in Sub-ledger reconciliations to general ledger balances.
    • May assist in auditing and reporting on specific charges to FOAPALs.
    • May assist in the review and disbursement process for employee expense reports.
    • May collect fees, miscellaneous obligations, remove payments from student records and notify proper departments of payments.
    • May enter tuition waivers and in-house scholarship accounts into the Accounting System via CRT.
    • May audit schedules that are required annually to verify disbursements.
    • May maintain forms and records and respond to questions regarding payroll/personnel system or benefits programs.
    • May combine daily receipts for bank deposits and reports during absence of supervisor.
    • May prepare manual checks to ensure checks are issued when requested.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education, experience, and other requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and over two (2) years of relevant full-time
experience.
