Accounting Manager Job at Aircraft Performance Group
The Opportunity
This role will be a key asset to the future growth of APG and it’s affiliated entities. The Accounting Manager will be providing financial assistance and support to the Director of Accounting and Finance. This requires a solid understanding of both accounting and business operations.
The ideal candidate is output-oriented, can easily move between competing priorities, always keeping an eye on deadlines, knows when to yield and when not to yield, excels as both linear, and non-linear thinking, has a relentless willingness to raise the bar, hold himself/herself and others accountable, and excels in a diverse international environment across different nationalities, geographies and cultures.
Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility and ownership of the month-end close process, including journal entry and financial statement preparation in accordance with US GAAP
- Detailed analysis of financial results compared to forecast and prior month results/trends
- Preparation/review of monthly account reconciliations
- Preparation of work papers and schedules for annual audit and direct coordination with auditors
- Supervise/assist with AP and Payrol functions as required
- Ability to create accounting processes and policies
- Assist with the information required for forecasting and budgeting processes, tax filings, and other requested financial data
- Adherence to internal controls
- Special projects as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA required
- Public accounting experience a plus, but not required
- At least 5-10 years’ experience in accounting with at least 2 years of supervisory experience
- Experience with software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies including working knowledge of ASC 606
- Advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, data manipulation and vLookup expertise
- Ability to understand complex request and determine how to solve it using multiple databases and tools
- Solid track record
- Experience dealing with tax related matters
- Strong communication skills
