JOB SUMMARY: This position provides support for daily operation of the financial department.
Interaction with the Financial Director is required to perform specialized duties to include accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and system month end close.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

  • Assets tracking
  • Receiving, coding, data entry of all CDA, Land Trust, economic development and housing assistance program invoices
  • Review, correction, and commitment of all property payables, including verification of supporting documentation (PO’s, packing slips)
  • Process monthly employee reimbursements
  • Yardi system training on Accounts Payable for new site staff
  • Invoice coding training for new site staff
  • Vendor set up
  • EFT vendor set up
  • EFT payments for housing assistance programs landlords
  • Matching and recording of EFT payments in Yardi to reconcile with bank accounts

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

  • Run monthly rent charges on the 25th after site managers have reviewed pre-rent rolls
  • Review all site deposits o Verify deposit totals match checks o Verify correct deposit book is used o Deposit all funds to the appropriate bank (US Bank, Charter, Klein)
  • Record NSF’s both check and EFT
  • Charge reversals for incorrect rent charges
  • Resident transfers within a property
  • Transfer of security deposit balance
  • Review and processing of all security deposit dispositions
  • Set up, move-ins, move outs for land trust tenants
  • Administration and monitoring of Revenue Recapture and bad debt write off for property management
  • Preparation of resident CRP’s
  • Rent Café training at sites as requested

CASH MANAGEMENT

  • Account balance monitoring of CDA cash accounts to maximize earnings on

CDA savings

  • Review and receipt Minnesota Revenue Recapture EFT’s
  • Journalize Recapture funds to appropriate property

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Strong numerical aptitude

Ability to enter data efficiently with accuracy

Detail oriented

Problem solving

Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Effective communication skills

General clerical

Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School degree plus two-year accounting degree/experience
