Job Summary

As a function of the Waupaca County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), this position is responsible for performing a variety of account receivables functions in support of the fiscal operations of the department.

This position works under the direct supervision of the Assistant Fiscal Services Administrator.


Essential Responsibilities

Responsible for the process of accounts receivables; including insurance (public and private) and client billing. Utilization of both internal and external software will be required for the various types of DHHS billing.

Monitor receivables accounts for proper payment, appropriate billing practices, financial review, and collection processing as necessary.

Communicate and assist clients and insurance providers as necessary in the billing process.

Work closely with agency staff to effectively and accurately accomplish the accounts receivable functions, with the primary objective of maximizing revenues and providing excellent customer service to clients and department staff.

Validate and monitor Agency and provider credentialing.

Responsible for the coordination of maintaining and evaluating relationship with preferred insurance providers.

Responsible for The Clinical Manager (TCM) computer program maintenance and attend monthly software user meetings.

Attend various meetings and trainings to build knowledge and skills that would be beneficial to the department and the County.

Maintain data as directed to comply with auditing, budgeting, and reporting requirements.

Responsible for proficiency in navigating and utilizing various State and insurance websites as needed to perform essential job functions.

Reply to requests for information/reports from DHHS management staff.

PERIPHERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Fiscal Services Supervisor, in coordination DHHS Fiscal unit staff.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Associate's Degree in Accounting or closely related field required.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two year of accounting experience. Medical billing experience preferred.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proficient knowledge of current professional office practices and procedures; including knowledge of computers, word processing, spreadsheet, and/or database software.

Ability to work in detail with a high degree of accuracy and to solve problems.

Ability to determine priorities, plan, and organize work schedule to meet mandated deadlines.

Ability to work semi-independently, make sound decisions, and use good judgement.

Ability to communicate effectively with both internal staff and external providers.

Ability to establish and maintain meaningful and respectful working relationships.

Ability to provide excellent customer service to members of the public and/or internal staff.

Ability to maintain appropriate agency confidentiality.

Ability to follow Civility Tools and Trauma Informed Care (TIC) Principles.

Takes direction and consultation willingly as a means of constant personal and professional improvement.
