Job Summary

The Accounts Receivable Associate is responsible for processing and balancing cash receipts, posting debit and credit memos, researching/issuing refunds, preparing accounts receivable aging reports, collection reports and journal entries.

Essential Functions

  • Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values”.
  • Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics”.
  • Process all cash receipts and post receipts against customer receivables.
  • Review and post debit/credit memos to customer accounts
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly accounts receivable reports for management
  • Research and resolve unapplied cash payments, account coding errors, and receivable balances
  • Monitor past due receivables and coordinate with business units to identify collection risks
  • Review inter-company transactions to confirm that invoices are entered properly and inter-company accounts balance
  • Assist with monthly close process, prepare journal entries, and perform administrative duties as necessary
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Provide back-up coverage for the Receptionist, to include answering multi-line telephone, forwarding calls, and greeting visitors.
  • Backup and support AP and other Accounting functions as needed
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ general accounting and/or accounts receivable experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting procedures.
  • Computer proficiency, including Excel, Outlook; experience with PENTA a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, oral, written, and communication skills required.
  • Detail oriented; must have the ability to prioritize work, analyze information, identify discrepancies and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team; must be a self-motivated individual.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels within the organization
