Pear VC California

Role: Accounts Receivable Specialist, Part-time, Remote

Pay: $20-$30/hr, depending on experience

Hours:15-20 hours a week

About NeuroNav

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities(IDD) like autism or cerebral palsy. As a public benefit corporation, doing social good is built into our DNA and we aim to make a difference everyday.

Our increasingly complex healthcare system makes it very challenging for neurodivergent adults to get the support they need to achieve their life goals. We aim to simplify that by combining technology with our compassionate team of expert navigators.

We are a startup founded out of Stanford University and backed by Pear VC, the same investors behind DoorDash, Gusto and Heap!

The Role

We are looking for a results-driven Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage accounting with assistance from an outsourced bookkeeper to set NeuroNav up for scaling. You will have the opportunity to drive critical processes and policies at NeuroNav with exposure to multiple functions. This role will be an integral part of our company, in keeping NeuroNav in strong financial health and allow us to continue creating a positive impact for our clients. You will directly report to the CEO and have exposure to multiple teams on a regular basis. As NeuroNav grows, we hope you will grow with us into a full-time finance and operations role.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounting (e.g., accounts receivable, accounts payable, expenses) with assistance from a bookkeeper

  • Follow-up on invoices sent to payors (e.g., nonprofits and businesses) for services provided to individual customers

  • Streamline core financial and operations processes and tools

  • Assist with budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting

  • Support with office management (remote only), asset management, and basic legal (e.g., business insurance, mail, hardware)

  • Support with HR processes with assistance from PEO providers (e.g., onboarding, employee handbook, benefits)

At NeuroNav, we are deeply committed to building a workplace where inclusion is not only valued, but prioritized. It is important to us that you bring your authentic self to work every single day, no matter your race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, family status, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, neurodiversity, disability, age, or veteran status, or any other non-merit based or legally protected grounds. Inclusion isn’t just an initiative at NeuroNav, it is a part of our culture.

We highly encourage all diverse applicants to apply, particularly neurodivergent candidates. We hire neurodiverse talent, amplify neurodiverse voices, and design products with neurodiverse input.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of operations/accounting experience or similar experience (4+ years preferred)

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent practical experience

  • Experience with general accounting (e.g., invoicing, collections, accounts payable, and light budgeting)

  • Proficient knowledge of Excel

Additional preferences

  • 1+ years finance/operations experience at a Series B or earlier stage startup

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online

  • Experience with general office management/IT/legal

  • Experience with general HR or working with PEO providers

  • Experience in a customer-facing role

  • Experience in the healthcare industry

  • Experience as a controller/with strategic finance (e.g., forecasting, GAAP accounting, budgeting, corporate planning)
