The ACH coordinator is responsible for coordinating ACH Settlement functions according to National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA) operation guidelines. Using complex problem solving and critical thinking skills, this position is also responsible for creating and updating policies and procedures as regulations change to ensure compliance and optimum department efficiencies with the overall member experience in mind. The ACH coordinator is also responsible for the processing of daily ACH and settlement activities. The Member Support team is responsible for demonstrating our quality service standards while supporting the credit unions mission, core values and long-term objectives.

Essential Duties:

  • Prepares and executes ACH balancing and settlement.

  • Monitors outgoing/incoming ACH files.

  • Processes and balances ACH returns and responds to internal/external queries.

  • Reviews, and performs OFAC verifications for all IAT transactions.

  • Responds to death notifications and reclamations.

  • Reviews and works ACH non-post, debit block, reviews.

  • Processes ACH stop payment requests, reviews and processes Reg E and corporate claims.

  • Reviews and monitors new and expiring ACH risk assessment documentation.

  • Processing other Settlement activities, i.e., Wires, In clearings, Adjustments, Shared branch, ATM.

  • Stays current with all NACHA and EFT regulations and strategically reviews, implements and updates policy and procedures.


Additional Duties:

  • Looks for efficiencies, process improvements and collaborates in team discussions.

  • Test new products, services, and system updates.

  • Perform member account research, audits, adjustments.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Experience:

  • 3 to 4 years of similar or related banking experience required.

  • Experience in a financial institution required.


Education:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.

  • Associate degree in a related field preferred.


Certifications:

  • ACH Network Certification (preferred)

  • Has earned one or more of these designations (preferred):

Must be current

    • Accredited ACH Professional (AAP)

    • Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP)

    • National Check Professional (NCP)

  • Must be knowledgeable in rules and regulations applicable to credit unions, including the EFT Act and NACHA rules.


Licenses, Registrations:

  • If driving for company business, must have a valid California driver’s license and proof of current insurance coverage.

  • Valid registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry as enacted and required by the Secure and Fair Enforcement (SAFE) for Mortgage Licensing Act.
