The University of Alabama in Huntsville invites applications for adjunct positions within the Department of Music. Specifically, positions are available in Applied piano, voice, organ, and strings as well as music theory/ear-training, music technology, music literature and appreciation, and world music. These positions are part-time faculty positions, hired on an as needed basis. Compensation is based on a standard university scale according to the number of credit hours being taught. Primary responsibilities include instruction based on the given student learning objective for the course, designing and implementing quality assessments, and grading students on their ability to master the learning objectives.

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements include a Master’s degree in Music or Music Education, or similar. Previous experience as an instructor is preferred.

Project DIAL Part-Time Instructional Position

The University of Alabama in Huntsville invites applications for part-time positions within the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. These positions are part-time faculty positions and will be specifically aligned with instructional and training needs under Project DIAL. Project DIAL is funded through a National Professional Development grant under the U.S. Department of Education. Information about the project, which focuses on supporting current P-12 educators who are serving ELs, is available here.

Primary responsibilities include designing instructional modules based on specific learning objectives, designing and implementing quality assessments, and evaluating participants on their ability to master learning objectives.

Compensation is based on a standard department scale.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements include a Master’s degree and/or certification in ESOL or a related field.

Experience as a P-12 educator in both ESOL and a content area is preferred.
