The Salvation Army Laura Danieli Senior Center is looking to fill and Administrative Assistant position. The successful candidate for this position will have basic knowledge of office equipment, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and good phone etiquette. This position is benefit eligible and comes with vacation, sick, health, vision, life insurance, free kroc membership and more.
The Administrative Assistant (AA) will be responsible for data entry including into the PHAROS program and other senior center programming. This person will answer calls, greet in person visitors and disseminate information regarding the Senior Center. This employee will generate reports, prepare the senior newsletter, maintain data files and other correspondence. The AA will have additional office duties during the Christmas and Thanksgiving holiday season.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must have basic knowledge of office equipment (computers, fax, copy machine, etc.)
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have good phone etiquette
- Must be able to follow directions both verbally and written
- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
