Job Description:
Provides day-to-day administrative support to the department; assists in maintaining records and systems; facilitates the exchange of information and effectively promotes the department in a variety of ways. Maintains an atmosphere that is conducive to academic pursuits by enforcing the boundaries established by Course syllabi, the College of Medicine and Kansas City University polices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support and Monitor Skills Lab
- Field Student questions and refer to other information sources if needed (i.e. faculty, fellows, team manager)
- Provide general help with lab preparation (printing documents, supporting fellows and lab facilitators)
- Help with lab attendance software
Maintain attendance/tardy lab monitoring
- Arrive at labs in advance in order to begin monitoring student on-time attendance
- Appropriately engage with tardy students, directing to the appropriate next steps in a pleasant, firm and consistent manner.
- Keep accurate records of tardy students
Be prompt and responsible
- Be on time for your scheduled shift; notify supervisor if unable to report
- Do not leave lab area for an extended period of time during your shift; notify supervisor if there is a problem
Maintain a professional presence
- Behave in a professional manner
- Treat all students, employees, fellows and faculty with courtesy and respect
Zoom Jockey
- This position will also assist as Zoom jockey during a variety of online curricular activities (lectures, small groups etc.)
Administrative support
- Other administrative support duties may include expense report entry, Outlook calendar support
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with Zoom, Outlook, Excel, basic computer software and general office equipment.
- Dependable, able to arrive to labs on time and consistently
Physical Requirements:
- Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead
- Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting
- Ability to continuously operate a personal computer for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)
- Mental acuity sufficient to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions
