Position Summary
The Counseling & Testing Center (CTC) and Office of Multicultural Student Services (OMSS) at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse seek applications for a full-time Administrative Assistant II. Under direct supervision of the Assistant Director at CTC and Interim Director of OMSS, this multi-functional position provides a wide variety of general administrative functions, often dealing with confidential and sensitive information, that involves working with personnel, students, and the public from diverse ethnic, cultural, and racial backgrounds to successfully achieve the goals and mission of the department/unit. This position serves as the primary point of contact for students, faculty and staff who contact these important student services offices.
This is a 100% full-time University Staff position (40 hours per week) with an ongoing appointment. The typical work schedule for this position is 7:45am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Scheduled hours will be divided between the two offices (depending on office needs) but will not include evenings or weekends. The starting salary is $15.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Administrative support experience.
- Demonstrated organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of software including Microsoft Office Suite, email, and electronic calendars.
- Ability to use discretion and good judgement regarding personal and confidential information
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and effectively in face-to-face, oral, written, and electronic forms to persons from all backgrounds and identities to provide affirming and accessible services.
Preferred Qualifications
- More than one-year experience as administrative support in higher education or another professional field.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, and set priorities to meet the demands of the position.
- General knowledge of medical/mental health office procedures, including the use of electronic medical recordkeeping systems.
- Knowledge of and compliance with all department policies and procedures, including HIPAA and FERPA.
- Proficiency with software and web-based applications, such as Google Docs, Qualtrics, web-site maintenance, and personnel and budgeting software.
- Knowledge of budget and appropriation structure, inventory/record keeping, bookkeeping, and/or procurement processes.
- Ability to meet and work effectively with people across multiple levels of the organization including students, faculty, and administrators across the university.
- Experience and evidence of professional experiences with diverse identities (I.e., race, gender, sexuality, disability, religion/faith, socio-economic status, first-generation student…etc.).
- Ability and willingness to maintain and enhance professional competencies and growth by participating in professional development workshops, seminars, and training sessions, related to current position responsibilities.
