About the Position
The Administrative Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision and training of the department’s receptionist team. In addition to supervisory functions, the Administrative Supervisor assists in the day-to-day receptionist responsibilities by providing superior customer service via the department’s main phone lines and visitor/lobby area. The Administrative Supervisor should have exceptional customer service experience, great supervisory skills, and outstanding organizational skills. The Administrative Supervisor sets the welcome and customer service bar for all visitors to the MCAO Building.

We Require
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three years of administrative experience
  • Post-secondary education may substitute for 1 year of the experience requirement
  • The Maricopa County Attorney's Office requires a thorough background check of all successful candidates and is authorized to test prospective employees for the presence of illegally accessed drugs. Drug testing is conducted once an offer has been extended and prior to placement

Job Contribution
  • Performs a full range of supervisory responsibilities, including but not limited to coordinating the daily activities of the receptionist team, evaluating employee performance, and assisting with hiring
  • Develops and oversees the training of new and existing receptionists staff along with creating reference materials for staff assisting with coverage
  • Performs administrative functions such as gathering and drafting monthly statistical reports to management
  • Researches, analyzes, and provides recommendations for improvements and/or changes to policies and procedures
  • Resolves escalated, complex complaints and problems
  • Performs clerical support to office divisions by assisting with special projects, including typing, filing, photocopying, and scanning documents
  • Provides reception services telephonically and in-person to a variety of customers including, citizens, other County departments, and outside law enforcement agencies
  • Answers multi-line telephone promptly and professionally, transfers calls, records messages, thoroughly researches, and accurately responds to inquiries
  • Receives, greets, and checks IDs for all incoming visitors in a timely manner

  • Work takes place in a typical office setting
  • Requires long periods of sitting to perform tasks
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 20 pounds floor to waist and push/pull up to 20 pounds at a distance of up to 100 feet.
