Admissions Assistant (Temporary)

Primary Function: Part-time, temporary position will participate as a member of the Admissions team to achieve the goals of the department and the College.
Responsibilities: Work with assigned staff on: (1) Perform duties related to student admission: create and update student records in administrative computer system from electronic and paper submissions; verify student information changes with approved documentation; support digital imaging initiatives; provide students with forms, records or correspondence as needed; provide customer service support; gather information; correspond with other departments and campuses as appropriate; assist with Admissions on-campus recruitment events including Open Houses, Info Sessions, Tours, etc. (2) Perform office support functions as directed: prepare and distribute correspondence and forms; maintain forms and supplies inventories; operate general office equipment, such as a copier, scanner and fax machine as required; (3) Direct student assistants: delegate student employees’ responsibilities and work load as directed; (4) Perform recordkeeping and reporting functions: with specific instructions, prepare special reports and projects using College standard software for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; (5) Provide exceptional student-facing service to prospective students, family members, and the community at large by phone, e-mail, and face to face communication; embrace and embody NCC’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. (6) Implement special responsibilities: as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications: (1) Education: (a) high school diploma; (b) any combination of training and experience which would facilitate the performance of the above duties; (2) Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: (a) ability to use technology systems and tools to support office operations; (b) accurate keyboarding, including figures and form completion; (c) proficient in College standard software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; (d) aptitude for work to be performed; (e) strong oral and written communication skills; (f) adaptability; (g) high degree of reliability; (h) high degree of confidentiality; (i) ability to organize work; (j) ability to function effectively as a member of a team. (3) Experience: minimum of two-three years of related experience.
