Adult Day Services Program Coordinator Job at Block Institute
The Adult Day Services Program Coordinator is responsible for the day to day operation of a cluster of services designed to engage people in community-based activities primarily associated with volunteerism, paid employment and community inclusion.
Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
- Manages all of the agency’s contracts associated with community-based work-related or volunteer related activities which include OPWDD sponsored employment services (SEMP, ETP/SEMP), ACCES-VR Services (Supported Employment and other vocational services), and OPWDD sponsored Day Habilitation Without Walls services.
- Directly or by delegation, responsible for ensuring that all services are delivered according to each person’s specific needs and person-centered outcomes. Ensures that such services are in accord with best professional practices.
- Manages a team of supervisors, and direct support professionals (Group Leaders, Assistant Group Leaders, and Job Coaches).
- Responsible for hiring, promoting, terminating and evaluating all staff associated with the delivery of services under this position’s purview.
- While utilizing a team approach, develops person-centered opportunities for individuals to explore their work-related interest by successfully placing individuals in competitive employment positions or volunteer opportunities, depending on the service modality.
- Ensures that all case recorded and case record information is maintained in full compliance with State and Federal regulatory requirements. Ensures that all service related staff has training that is consistent with regulatory and contractual obligations.
- Ensures that all billing is compiled accurately, completely and timely. Ensures that all billing is in full compliance with all State and Federal regulatory requirements for Medicaid and New York State Controller billing.
- BA / BS degree in a related field; MA degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience working with the MR / DD population in a vocational setting
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- Flexible work schedule
- Experience working in OPWDD, VESID, State ED, SEMP, ETP/SEMP, ACCESS-VR Agencies, DHWW
