ArtCenter College of Design is searching for an experienced Advanced 3D” instructor, part-time (non-tenure track) to join our team.

The salary range for this position: Compensation will be commensurate with professional experience and teaching.

The job consists of teaching a section of the “Advanced 3D” course, ECPT-258. The class will meet 5 hrs/week either in-person or online on Zoom. The course description is as follows:
Advanced 3D deepens knowledge of 3D software. The class covers the incorporation of 3D in the concept art process. The software currently being utilized in the class is Blender.
Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teaching in the Entertainment Design department at ArtCenter College of Design
  • Provide classroom instruction, maintain and report student attendance, preparation of instructional material including class syllabi, grading students’ assignments and exams, posting students’ grades, consulting with students, replying to students’ inquiries, and facilitating course evaluations
  • Mentor and guide students beyond the classroom

Other Responsibilities and service opportunities

  • Assist in cultivating guest lectures
  • Assist with providing classwork for the student gallery
  • Maintain external relationships with designers and leaders experienced with issues of diversity, inclusion, and equity

Required Qualifications: *
Qualifications*

  • BS or BFA in a related field from an accredited college or university and/or equivalent professional experience
  • Expert knowledge of Blender
  • 5+ years of teaching and/or related professional experience
  • Ability to develop an effective course syllabus
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion and recognize the confidential nature of ArtCenter business, as well as requirements under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • Must be able to work with and understand our culturally diverse student and faculty body with their needs and goals
  • A commitment to DEI and culture, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within ArtCenter’s diverse communities
