Three Rivers Community Action is a non-profit human services agency working to increase homeownership among the rapidly diversifying population in southern Minnesota. The agency is seeking to add an energetic professional to the team who will be responsible for the implementation of the Achieve Homeownership Program which focuses on increasing homeownership rates among diverse households in the region. The initiative covers all of southeastern Minnesota, with in-depth programming in several focus communities including the cities of Rochester, Faribault, Northfield, Owatonna, Austin, and Albert Lea. This full-time position specifically serves as a Home Stretch Class instructor (homebuyer education), conducts community outreach, delivers public presentations about the program and enters program/client data into online reporting tools. Duties may also include homebuyer counseling, marketing, event coordination, facilitation and direct assistance to diverse households. This full-time position (36 hours per week) is based in Rochester and will travel frequently to Austin. Individual may be approved to work a limited amount of time (typically one day per week) from home after fully trained.

The starting pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:

• Bilingual skills required (spoken/written English plus fluency in an additional language such as Somali, Arabic, Spanish or another language prevalent in Southeast Minnesota)
• Ability to work with the public, articulate ideas and work with diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
• Experience providing direct services to individuals or families one-to-one or in a group setting, with an emphasis on problem solving and empowerment
• Self-motivated, reliable and confident individual with ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Basic computer proficiency with experience using Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Zoom
• Extensive organizational skills and an ability to handle multiple tasks
• Willingness to work flexible schedules outside of traditional business hours
• Ability to travel within the region

Additional Desired Attributes:

• Person of color and/or ethnically diverse person
• Bachelor s degree and/or experience in lending, real estate, community development, housing, business, social work, sociology or related field
• Certified as a Homebuyer Educator through Neighborworks or Minnesota Homeownership Center (to be completed within 1 year of hire)
• Certified as a Pre-purchase Homeownership Counselor through Neighborworks or Minnesota Homeownership Center (timeline for completion to be determined)
• Experience in online data management software
