Quality Technician

The Quality Technician is accountable for providing support to all phases of engineering and product development throughout the aerospace manufacturing facility. Responsible for providing technical guidance and support to company employees, ensuring the highest level of customer service both internally and externally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute daily/weekly/monthly requirements as assigned, ensuring timely completion of all tasks.
  • Provide hands-on technical assistance company-wide on all engineering processes and procedures, (assembling, measuring, cleaning, inspecting, qualifying parts, packing, shipping)
  • Follow manufacturing specifications and procedures for all jobs that satisfy product requirements.
  • Manage the timely resolution of defect analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
  • Oversee maintenance of company drawings, work instructions and specifications. Develop and maintain specifications and procedures for special processes within the company.
  • Support Production floor and Engineering team with daily needs to promote safe and lean manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain a positive support relationship ensuring the highest level of customer service both internally and externally, and facilitating the timely flow of technical information as needed.
  • Enforce and follow all environmental, health, and safety regulations. Ensure that all specifications for work products, equipment and material handling comply with current safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will be high energy, self motivated, organized and detail oriented, with advance knowledge of MS Office, and has worked in a manufacturing or aerospace facility. Aerospace or Casting/Injection molding experience a plus, but not required. FAI experience preferred. Strong analytical ability required in order to analyze and interpret contracts and other project documents, and must be comfortable in a fast paced environment with frequently competing priorities. Excellent communication skills required. Associates degree or equivalent combination of education plus 1-2 years of manufacturing industry experience preferred, or Bachelors degree. Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing preferred (Visual, Workflow)

Supervisory Duties

Reporting to Engineering Director, the incumbent will have significant influence over the production process and carrying out of day-to-day processes.

Language Skills

Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective speeches and presentations to top management, public groups and or/board of directors.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands (to handle, finger or feel) reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is required to stand and walk; occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift/move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift/move u p to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust to focus. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.
