As Youth Care Coordinator, you will work with youth at A New Leaf’s La Mesita Community; a 110 low-income apartment complex dedicated to helping families maintain long term stable housing and move forward. The Youth Care Coordinator provides youth K-12 on-site with fun and engaging activities to foster positive attitudes and growth. You will be responsible for daily activity development, on and off-site event coordination, youth services record keeping, and daily youth supervision. You will work as a team with La Mesita’s Youth Care Worker to ensure child safety and participation in Youth Services.

As a member of the La Mesita Support Services Team, you will work in a collaborative environment alongside caring professionals dedicated to delivering well-rounded services. To support work-life balance, you will have some flexibility in your schedule outside of the daily Youth Services hours of 3PM – 6PM which will be discussed upon hire.

Pay: Starting at $19 + (depending on years of experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10am – 6:30pm; flexibility to work during evening/weekend events

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Level I:
  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with elementary school children in an educational or childcare setting.
Level II:
  • High School diploma/GED required AND 3 - 4 years of experience working with elementary school children in an educational or childcare setting OR
  • An Associate/Bachelor degree AND 1 - 2 years of experience working in an educational or childcare setting.
Level III:
  • High School diploma/GED required AND 5 years of experience working with elementary school children in an educational setting or childcare setting OR
  • An Associate/Bachelor degree AND 3 years of experience working with elementary school children in an educational setting.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Organize structured activities for youth to include education, socialization, recreation, games, and arts & crafts.
  • Train and provide coaching to other staff on the Youth Care Team
  • Provide consistent line-of-sight supervision for participants.
  • Establish and ensure daily schedule is being followed.
  • Implement program goals, objectives, policies and procedures. Report program progress weekly in written and verbal reports to supervisor.
  • Document (verbal/written) and submit significant and routine paperwork such as progress notes, statistics reports, daily activities, upcoming events, special concerns, varied incident reports, etc., as required by the program and submit to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain daily cleanliness of and report any maintenance needs in weekly report to supervisor and to LM Apartments.
  • Work with supervisor and LM Apartments to ensure coordination of services.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough and current documentation of contact with consumers/families.
  • Ensure confidentiality of verbal and written consumer/family information.
  • Actively participate in the orientation and training of new or temporary staff and volunteers.
Compliance:
  • Ability to obtain a Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card upon hire
  • Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation
  • Current Auto Liability Insurance
  • Clean 39-Month Motor Vehicle Record
  • Must Be At Least 21 Years of Age
