Job Purpose

Aircraft Access Agents are responsible for ensuring that only authorized personnel enter the safety envelope and the cabin of the aircraft. Works in conjunction with airline and government agencies, the main priority of each position is to ensure that our client airline is in compliance with local and federal regulations. Staff are in place at all access points on the aircraft. Agents are responsible for challenging, and screening anyone who attempts to access the aircraft. Agents are in stationed at the jet bridge, and on the bottom of the access stairs roving the ramp. All personnel that cross the gate must have their ID. Any unauthorized personnel or vehicles are immediately reported to state police and the operation is halted until local authorities have secured the area.

Job Duties

· Aircraft access control by assuring that only authorized personnel enter the cabin of the aircraft while on the ground and by providing AOA access control & safety oversight while aircraft is on the ground.

· Challenge everybody that attempts to access the aircraft from their station (airside, jet bridge). All personnel that attempt to access the aircraft must have valid, visible ID.

· Security Agent may use a portable hand-held scanner to screen individuals attempting access to the aircraft. Personnel anybody that the scanner alarms must be patted down using screener techniques unless they can show the product of the alarm to the security agent and pass the screening (e.g. keys in pocket).

· Cannot leave their post unless the aircraft doors have been closed, or if properly relieved by another security agent.

· Should treat everybody with respect and provide excellent customer service.

· In the event of any situation, which may indicate a security hazard for aircraft, flight or passengers, the following persons have to be notified proper personnel.

· Must follow all Federal and Local security procedures.

· Certain locations may require agents to screen catering carts and truck at the catering facility.

· Proficient in reports required by Fenix and air carrier.

· Other duties as required.

Working Conditions

· The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and move for extended periods of time throughout the course of daily activates while performing the duties of the position.

· Must be able to work for extended periods of time due to flight delays.

· The employee is occasionally required to climb, lift baggage weighing more than 75 lbs. on a consistent basis, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

· The employee is required to do work on a computer in addition to doing paperwork.

· The position involves stress associated with challenging anybody who approaches the aircraft whether they be a known customer, TSA official, or stranger.

· This position requires a professional approach and demeanor under all conditions.

· Airlines fly in all weather conditions and employees are required to work during freezing cold, raining and extremely warm temperatures.

Educational Preferences/Training

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Licenses & Certifications

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and required FAA, airport and/or Customs identification, seals, and authorizations. Security Guard License for certain locations'
