The computing performance research team is a team in Alibaba Cloud Infrastructure. It is responsible for researching, prototyping various performance optimization schemes and working with other teams across the organization to improve the overall performance optimization flow, using state-of-the-art techniques. The team is also responsible for researching new computing paradigms at the software and hardware level, including but not limited to processing-in-memory, data flow computing and new ways to accelerate heterogeneous computing. As a computing performance research engineer, your responsibilities may include: 1. Research the latest software and hardware performance Co-optimization techniques. 2. Prototype and deploy these techniques for real application scenarios in Alibaba Cloud. 3. Research new hardware and software computing paradigms, including but not limited to processing-in-memory, data flow computing, and various heterogeneous computing acceleration schemes. 4. Develop Proof-of-concept Demos and make publications in top-tier Conferences/Journals.
Minimum qualification: - Ph.D. in Computer Science (Computer Architecture, Computer System or Algorithms preferred) - Experiences in software/hardware performance analysis and performance optimization - Familiar with C++ / Python Preferred qualification: - Industry or academic postdoc research experiences - Strong track record in publications The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $146,400/year and $240,000/year. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
