Ambulatory Technician - Full time days Job at URMC

URMC Rochester, NY 14620

As a community, the University of Rochester is defined by a deep commitment to Meliora - Ever Better. Embedded in that ideal are the values we share: Inclusion, Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence. Our teams collaborate and support each other to make sure we deliver innovative, compassionate and patient-centered care. URMC’s Outpatient Ambulatory Care team is seeking Ambulatory Technicians as we continue to grow our community-based medical practices. These Medical (Nursing) Assistants perform clinical tasks like checking vitals, updating patient charts, conducting point-of-care testing and room preparation — also assisting with procedures and clinical tasks.

This is an excellent entry point for those continuing their clinical education, working toward a Nursing or Advanced Practice (PA/NP) program or Medical school.

Our Ambulatory Technician’s work is focused on:

Customer Service: Providing a warm patient hand-off to providers and nursing staff in the clinic.

Collaboration: Ensuring supplies and equipment are readily available in exam rooms to ensure smooth clinic operations and patient visits.

Teamwork: Assisting providers with patient visits and in-office procedures. Supporting front office and nursing colleagues with their tasks.

Accuracy: Documenting patient encounters and visit notes in the electronic medical record (EMR).

The ideal candidate for an Ambulatory Technician brings at least one year of patient care experience. A customer service orientation and the ability to work at a fast pace is essential.

The University of Rochester is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion to advance the University’s Mission to Learn, Discover, Heal, Create – and Make the World Ever Better.

In support of our values and those of our society, the University is committed to non-discriminate on the basis of age, color, disability, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, genetic information, marital status, military/veteran status, national origin, race, religion/creed, sex, sexual orientation, citizenship status, or any other status protected by law. This commitment extends to the administration of our policies, admissions, employment, access, and recruitment of candidates from underrepresented populations, veterans, and persons with disabilities consistent with these values and government contractor Affirmative Action obligations.
