SUMMARY
Lead a team responsible for delivering database administration, business intelligence, analytics, reporting, and technical support needed to maintain and improve the operations/performance across the organization. Manage activities of the data team(s) to ensure all analyses, projections, conclusions, presentations, reports, data visualizations, metrics/KPI dashboards, and solution proposals are thorough, accurate, complete, and dependable. Responsible for enterprise data management, data governance, data architecture, business intelligence, data science and advanced analytics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following:

• Plans and oversees implementation of the strategy manages staff and scope and plans work as it relates to business units and management requests, with a heavy emphasis on gaming and hospitality, operations, finance and food and beverage.
• Evaluates procedures and technologies used by the organization and develops standardized, repeatable, and efficient process for analytics, reporting, data visualizations, and dashboards; creates and maintains environments and tools to enable self-serve analytics across the organization.
• Drives efficiency and decision making by ensuring data and analytics are easily discoverable, through the creation, cataloging and/or documentation of core data.
• Monitors consumption of company analytics assets determines effectiveness of analytics programs and tools and recommends changes as appropriate to improve.
• Provides ad hoc analysis for strategic decisions and business planning requests.
• Ensures timely delivery of analysis, projects, and reporting to enable faster decision making and drives continuous process improvements; identifies and sponsors continuous improvement projects.
• Defines metrics/KPIs and reports/dashboards to support achievement of organizational goals.
• Ensures project deliverables and outcomes are implemented to the business as per scope, schedule, and budget.
• Manages communications to key stakeholders and confirms project risks, issues, decisions, and actions.
  

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
Supervise/manage a department and have authority over hiring/firing/performance decisions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other related field, and eight (8) years of big data, analytics, business intelligence experience with multiple programming languages and technologies or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with data management concepts and tools, including manipulating large datasets and automating reports required. Eight (8) years of hands-on data analytics and BI processes and architecture experience required. Eight (8) years of SQL server experience including jobs, stored procedures, SSAS, SSRS, and SSIS required. Experience implementing Microsoft PowerBI, including Azure architecture, Gateways, Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse required. Experience with Snowflake, Synapse, Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks Delta Lake, Dremio, Denodo, Starburst, Oracle Autonomous Cloud and other cloud-based architects preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Extensive knowledge of big data technology, processes (extracting, storage, processing, scripting, etc) and associated tools/products.
• Ability to work with corporate planners to support business planning and analysis (BP&A) in support of M&A and other growth strategies.
• Ability to disseminate information and leverage strong decision-making skills to act decisively.
  

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
