Ohio University, Division of Physician Assistant Practice, seeks applications
for up to 3 Anatomy Teaching Assistants.

Established in 1804, Ohio University is a doctoral/research intensive university with 21,000 students on its picturesque Athens Campus and another 8,500 students on five established regional campuses. Ohio University is the oldest public institution of higher learning in the State of Ohio.

The Division of Physician Assistant Practice began offering the Master of Physician Assistant Practice Degree beginning with its inaugural class in 2015. We accept approximately 45 students per year into our 27 month program. We are located in Dublin, Ohio in a state of the art academic facility. The Division of Physician Assistant Practice is within the School of Rehabilitation and Communication Sciences in the College of Health Science and Professions. (

The primary responsibility of Anatomy teaching assistants (TA) is to performing teaching-related duties to assist lead anatomist/supervising faculty and aid PA-students. Laboratory duties include enforce lab rules & regulations, take attendance, setup of lab sessions resources, cleanup and upkeep. Assist students in dissections, perform prosections and assist in mock & practical exams setup under the guidance of the lead anatomist/supervising faculty. Proctor and grade quizzes/practical exams and close down lab. Lead tutoring and review sessions, including directed tutoring for students at risk. Primary accountabilities include:
  • Performing teaching-related duties to assist lead supervising anatomy faculty and PA-students in laboratory dissections and learning activities
  • Laboratory stations set-up, mock & practical exams setup, exam grading, proctoring and close down
  • Lead tutoring, review and directed tutoring sessions. Coordinate weekly lecture and lab review session in consortium with other anatomy graduate TA
  • Attend lectures as assigned by course director.
  • Laboratory: perform prosections & dissections as instructed by the course director, enforce laboratory expectations/rules/regulations, setup resources, cleanup and up-keep

Minimum Qualifications
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Graduate Human Anatomy course work. REQUIRED: Graduate Student standing in Anatomy or recent completion of MS of Anatomy or related healthcare field; Successfully approved graduate level dissection based-human gross anatomy coursework ( Anatomy 6900: Human Anatomy for Graduate Student; PA5210 Anatomy)

Preferred Qualifications
Graduate level dissection based-human gross anatomy Teaching Assistantship (TA) experience
