Position Summary: The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for assisting in properly maintaining equipment and supplies and preparing the operating room for procedures. Also functions as receptionist and clerical coordinator for department. Performs various tasks such as ensuring appropriate processing of charges, documenting anesthesia caseload in the journal and coordinating communication to meet the needs of various departments in the hospital. The North Hills Hospital staff member can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric, and pediatric patients from newborn through adolescence. The attached criteria based performance evaluation provides a specific set of standards as they relate to age specific competency.

Medical City North Hills is licensed for 164 beds, has over 300 physicians and 30 medical specialties. The ER has about 39,000 visits each year and is a Level III Trauma Center. Additionally, we are a Primary Stroke Center, perform spine surgery and joint replacements and have a comprehensive cardiovascular services department. Our hospital is an accredited Cycle 5 Chest Pain Center with a cardiac rehabilitation program.

Position Qualifications:

1: Experience:

A. Previous Anesthesia Technician experience preferred.

2: Specific Requirements:

A. Demonstrates knowledge of anesthesia equipment, machines, and supplies demonstrating competency with regard to

the age and risk factors of the patients served.

B. Demonstrates knowledge of anesthesia functions and can assist anesthesia personnel with performing these functions.

C. Capable of performing clerical and receptionist duties in a courteous and cooperative manner.
