As an animator, you will put language education in motion.

You'll help evolve our fun style and visual language we've been refining for years. Your animations will be used in our mobile apps and on landing pages, advertisements, blog posts, videos, social media posts, and much more, pushing Duolingo's brand and mission forward to transform the future of education.

What you'll do...

• Breathe life into the Duolingo World through appealing character animation
• Pitch, board, and create original animations while keeping characters on-model
• Collaborate with Design, Product, Engineering, and Scripted Content teams
• Consider the audience experience for all animations you create
• Develop a deep understanding of our product focused pipeline and production tools
• Complete work in accordance with production timelines and communicate needed adjustments to schedules with management
• Maintain professionalism in a fast paced and dynamic work environment

What we're looking for…

• A 2D Character Animation focused demo reel that is no more than 2 minutes long
• A reel breakdown calling out your work in the reel
• Proficiency animating with Adobe After Effects, Harmony, or equivalent software
• The ability to juggle multiple projects in parallel from concept to implementation
• The ability to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA

Exceptional Candidates:

• Experience working at an indie animation studio or tech start-up
• Experience collaborating with iOS and Android Developers to achieve art direction
• Experience with character animation for mobile content
• Familiarity with Lottie/JSON files, and/or RIVE
