BFS Companies has an opening for an accounts payable specialist. This position is responsible for understanding the urgency of getting the job done accurately and timely. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the accounting cycle in a professional environment. An understanding of basic accounting principles is required, as well as strong computer and communication skills and a working knowledge of Excel. This role is responsible for completing payments and controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. Also, this position will be responsible for preparing and issuing accounts payable checks for various companies. This position is full-time and overtime should be expected.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Review and verify invoices and check requests
- Sort, code and match invoices
- Set invoices up for payment
- Enter and upload invoices into system
- Prepare and perform daily check runs
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments have been properly applied to the account
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
- Maintain vendor files
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries

Education and Experience
