Job Summary:

This position analyzes computer applications and provide technical assistance in resolving system errors. Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities and workflow.

The following is a list of essential duties and responsibilities for this position. It is not all-inclusive, other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and management may modify this job description when appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversees the daily performance of computer application systems

• Enters commands and observes system functionality to verify correct operations and detect errors

• Tests, maintains, and monitors computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of programs and systems

• Provides staff and users with technical assistance related to system errors

• Coordinates with management to ensure agreement on systems, procedures , access, and policies

• Develops training materials and procedures, or trains users in the proper use of hardware or software

• Maintains records of daily data communication transactions, problems, and remedial actions taken, or installation activities

• Coordinates and links computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility so information can be shared

• Assists in determining computer software or hardware needed to set up or alter systems
• Liaison between software vendors, consultants, and users of applications to ensure testing and system errors resolved

Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer science or Management Information Systems unless otherwise waived by Tribal Council as based on determined experience and accomplishments. Minimum Three (3) to four (4) years computer information systems experience as well as other relevant educational or work experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Performing Analytic studies of existing applications and reporting on their ability to meet TMR needs
• Backing up and upgrading existing applications
• Investigating, diagnosing, and resolving faults and errors in applications.
• Reporting and creating documentation for applications
• Ability to work with other developers and software providers to ensure organizational needs for software are met
• Project management skills for design and development
• Ability to construct and work to deadlines
