What We Are Looking For

Baylor University Health Center is seeking a full-time Appointment Clerk-Receptionist. In this position you will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for patients and visitors to the health clinic. The primary responsibilities for this position will be working the front desk receiving area of the health clinic to check-in patients, and answering phone calls. An ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate the following:

• Understand the needs of a diverse student population within a Christian higher education setting and have an openness to cultural humility
• Be punctual and courteous to fellow co-workers. Be available to work 1 to 2 Saturdays each month, 9am-1pm
• Be successful communicating and interacting with other staff members in the health clinic as well as all campus populations including, students, faculty, and staff

A High School Diploma, two years relevant experience, and an active Christian faith are required. Three years relevant work experience are preferred. Experience will not be considered in lieu of the educational requirement. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

• Greet and check patients in and out of the Health Clinic through an electronic medical records system
• Answer phones
• Assemble and pull patient charts
• Support and assist other Health Services staff in other administrative tasks as needed
• Schedule patient appointments
• Provide excellent customer service
• Comply with University policies
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance, attend staff meetings
• Observe all confidentiality guidelines
• Perform range of administrative functions to different departments within Student Life as needed
• Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
