Position Overview:
The Area Construction Manager will provide operational leadership of all construction activities for an assigned geographic area of the Ashton Woods division reporting directly to the Director of Construction. Hire, train, coach and motivate assigned construction staff. Drive operational efficiencies to include cycle times, construction extras, customer satisfaction and quality control. Work collaboratively with all functional peers as a member of the Construction Team to ensure achievement of department and business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that construction department is staffed and competent in technical, administrative and customer satisfaction skills.
- Ensure that construction activities are performed in cost-effective manner.
- Ensure that assigned work sites comply with safety program and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage production levels and adequate staffing to meet business goals.
- Manage warranty service completion goals and warranty expenses within budget.
- Communicate construction, customer service and/or safety issues to the Director of Construction.
- Work in conjunction with the Purchasing team to on-board new trade partners.
- Support Land Development and Acquisition functions as needed.
- Team with assigned Sales Agents to ensure high satisfaction level in Customer Service.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of residential construction management experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word) and construction software.
- Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.
- Valid/Active driver’s license is required (MVR check part of background check).
