Rincon Consultants, Inc. is seeking an As-needed Ph I ESA Geologist/Scientist to assist with preparation of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) for various projects in Northern and Southern California. Assistance with other project locations within southern California may be requested as well. Experience with writing Phase I ESAs and ASTM Phase I ESA guidelines (2021) is required. As-needed positions have the potential to develop into regular, part-time or full-time positions.

Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with our internal Due Diligence team to execute work efficiently and within schedule.
• Prepare Phase I ESAs and Caltrans Initial Site Assessments (ISA) with a focus on ASTM compliance, accuracy, clarity, succinctness, and document QA/QC
• Conduct site inspections and reconnaissance in support of environmental site assessments

This Job Might Be For You If You Have The Following:

• Minimum B.A./B.S. in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or another related field
• Familiar with Phase I ESA ASTM (2021)/AAI requirements
• OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER training preferred
• At least 2 years of direct, relevant Phase I ESA work experience in California
• High motivation with excellent analytical, technical writing, and documentation skills
• Detail-oriented, resourceful, innovative, and strong time management skills
• Ability to perform site reconnaissance
• Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills; with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

The base salary range for this temporary position is $28.00-$41.00 per hour. At Rincon, our salary ranges are based on market median of similar jobs, according to third party salary benchmark surveys. The base pay that is actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
