Prescient Technologies is seeking highly-skilled, knowledgeable, and self-motivated American Sign Language Interpreters to support the Bureau of Reclamation’s Technical Service Center (TSC) in the Denver, CO area. The TSC is a world science and engineering service provider. Our ideal candidates will be dedicated to achieving and maintaining a high level of professionalism while remaining as unobtrusive as possible.

Our Team members will provide Sign Language Interpreting Services from American Sign Language (ASL) format to English as well as English to ASL.

Interpreter services may range from simple to complex and may be sensitive in nature. Services will include the use of technical terminology and specialized vocabulary regarding subjects such as engineering, physical sciences, and environmental compliance.

Our ideal candidates will excel at working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while staying within the role of interpreter and will also possess the following skills:

• Strong listening, research, memory, and sign language skills.
• Ability to interpret technical discussions relating to science and engineering disciplines.
• Ability to interpret specialized vocabulary.
• The ability to sign in many different situations, including but not limited to meetings, conferences, webinars, video, trainings, small groups, large groups, and one-on-one.
• Must be skilled at simultaneous interpretation.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
• The ability to perform in a challenging, creative, and formal working environment.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or physical sciences or equivalent
• Graduation from an accredited interpreter preparation program, national certification in ASL interpretation, and continuing education.
• A minimum of three (3) years working as an interpreter for the deaf or in a related field in which services for the visual and hearing impaired were provided must be reflected in your resume.
• Must be able to interpret/transliterate fluently and understand the continuum of sign communication.
• RID, NAD, NIC, State or similar certification.
• Must be able to proficiently voice to sign as well as sign to voice.
• Must possess exceptional communication skills, both orally and written

Job Type: Contract

Pay: From $45.00 per hour
