Wood Technologies International is seeking a Tipper and Grinder Operator to join our team of dedicated employees in our brand-new state-of-the-art facility in Ridgefield, Washington. Come and grow with us!

• $.75 per hour shift differential on swing shift and $1.50 shift differential on the graveyard shift

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Swing Shift only 2:00 PM-10:30 PM. Will train on days to start.

Available to work all shifts.

• Uses a machine to grind a piece of steel (called saw) round in diameter
• Uses a machine to notch a piece of steel (called saw) to insert the carbide tip
• Uses a torch to heat up tip and saw to install carbide tips
• Operates a machine that automatically forms a tooth and welds stellite on a saw
• Job includes setting up machine parameters per customer's specifications
• Basic programming of the 7 grinders
• Operates up to 6 machines at a time
• Loading and unloading saws from any of the 7 grinding machines
• Changing grinding wheels
• Adding coolant and empty swarf when needed
• General cleaning of machines and area.
• Works with a high sense of urgency
• Wears all required PPE

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -

• Active participation in Lean training and events as requested
• Must cross-train to other positions as requested
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE -

• Ability to run six machines at the same time through organizing orders to grind
• Able to work with people to troubleshoot problems with saws
• Able to schedule daily work requirements unsupervised to meet customer demands
• Work with a technician to troubleshoot minor machine problems
• Must be able to speak and read English
• Must be able to do basic math
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand, walk, use hands to hold, handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. The employee is frequently or constantly required to talk, hear, see and/or perform repetitive motions. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision. The employee must individually lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., occasionally, and 125 lbs. with assistance, infrequently.
