ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATOR


200 Days Contract

1 Year Grant Funded Position


GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

Under general supervision, supports the Principal and Assistant Principal(s) in providing a safe and secure learning environment for students and staff. Supports the management of school, human and financial resources, buildings, grounds and equipment. Reports to the school Principal.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists the Principal/Assistant Principal(s) in defining the school’s mission and in communicating goals and expectations for the total school program. Responds to various needs for assistance when the Principal and/or Assistant Principal(s) are unavailable.


Adheres to and complies with all board policies, regulations and operating procedures. Supports the Principal and Assistant Principal(s) in the process of continuous school improvement.


Provides instructional leadership, in concert with the Principal/Assistant Principal(s), for the implementation of the school’s curriculum. Coordinates and supervises student activities as assigned.


Assists the Principal/Assistant Principal(s) in monitoring and assessing student achievement and participation in outcomes with appropriate data collection and analysis. Uses multiple sources of data to monitor and assess student achievement as requested by the Principal/Assistant Principal(s).


Assists in coordinating school discipline and maintains necessary discipline records as assigned.


Supervises and monitors students in various activities and settings including the classroom, hallways, during lunch periods, in bus loading areas, etc. Takes necessary precautions to protect students and to properly care for property, equipment, materials, and facilities.


Assists the Principal/Assistant Principal(s) with mandated testing requirements as assigned.


Communicates effectively with students, staff, administrative and supervisory personnel, parents, and the community. Plans and engages in various activities which contribute to professional growth and leadership development.


Supports the development, implementation and monitoring of student IEPs as applicable, while assisting the Principal/Assistant Principal(s) with on-going compliance with special education regulations (state and federal), including the implementation of due process procedures.


Assists in the safe arrival and dismissal of students; assists in implementing appropriate procedures for car riders, walkers, and the loading and unloading of buses. Assists in coordinating requests for student transportation for athletic trips, field trips, etc.


Serves on committees or participates in various meetings as assigned (e.g., curriculum, safety, site advisory, special district committees, etc.).


Willingly performs other duties as assigned or requested.


MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Master's degree or higher with at least three years of experience as a classroom teacher; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must possess a valid S.C. teaching credential in the area of principal or supervisor.


Salary: Teacher Salary Schedule (200 Days)
