Assistant/Associate Professor of Elementary Education Job at Midland University
Midland University, a private, liberal arts university in Fremont, Nebraska (just outside of metro Omaha), is seeking a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of Elementary Education, with an emphasis in Literacy and Reading Instruction, to provide in person undergraduate instruction in the Walker School of Education, Fremont, Nebraska location. The Walker School of Education provides a Teacher Education Program fully accredited by the Nebraska Department of Education.
Description of Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct courses that provide foundation and methods with a focus on Reading Literacy Education (approximately 24 credit hours /year). Additional in person undergraduate instruction could include: Diversity, Technology, Social Studies, or Early Childhood courses.
- Participate in the supervision of students during field-based experiences (FBE) and/or clinical experience.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement for curriculum, instruction and assessment that aligns with state standards.
- Help mentor adjunct faculty and students.
- Collaborate and communicate with staff and administration of Midland University.
- Participate in department and university wide meetings and professional development.
- Partner with the university on student recruiting, retention, and graduation.
- Measure and analyze program outcomes for continuous improvement.
- Utilize high impact practices with innovative teaching.
Candidate Qualifications:
- A Master's Degree in Education is required, a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education is preferred.
- Active or past elementary teaching endorsement and experience.
- Evidence of effective teaching in an elementary setting is required.
- Post-secondary teaching/professional development or instructional coaching is preferred.
- Have a minimum of 5 years of Elementary teaching experience.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to be able to travel within the work day.

Compensation:
