Yellowstone Club’s Retail department is currently seeking candidates for a Assistant Buyer. This is a full time year round position located in Big Sky, Montana.

The purpose of the Assistant Buyer is to fulfill assigned buying functions for all product vendors and categories, responsible for generating business through year round, seasonal and promotional buys to maximize sales and profits. Will source and purchase branded products and work with the branding team to create and develop products for all brand initiatives. Provide a great member experience while assisting on the sales floor. Help create a curated buy, based on the current retail trends coupled with direct member input. Assist with product receiving and inventory management.

Responsibilities Include:

• Ensure that each member and guest receives outstanding guest service in a guest friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every member and guest, maintaining outstanding service standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service.
• Empowered to guarantee total guest satisfaction, display hospitality and professionalism to our guests at all times, take pride in representing Yellowstone Club professionally with our members and guests and assure that all transactions with guests are handled in a legal and ethical manner.
• Understand and apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees, members, and guests at all times. In the event of an accident or emergency, seek medical attention if necessary and contact the General Manager or Human Resources immediately.

Position Requirements:

• Strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
• Good understanding of general math and an understanding of retail math, margins, maintained margins, discounts, commissions, etc.
• “Eye for creativity.”
• Friendly and outgoing personality.
• 2+ years of buying / other relevant experience required. Product selection.
• Must have an understanding of the ski and outdoor industry and the brands and products associated with it.
