Assistant CN Procurement Manager Job at GreenPoint Ag
Summary/Objective
Perform duties as Assistant CN Procurement Manager, as necessary. Act as product manager for select products and assist with data, logistics and communication within the CN Team. Will report to the Sr. Procurement Manager of Crop Nutrients.
Essential Functions
- Maintain high level of character and integrity as an interface to the fertilizer industry on behalf of GPAH, with focus on long term relationships.
- Procurement for select bulk products within GPAH’s CN Book and be the daily point of contact between Suppliers and GPAH for those products.
- Negotiate shipping schedules and anything relative to supplier relationships in conjunction with the CN Team and Leadership
- Assist with supplier contracts and ensure that forecasts and targets are being tracked
- Compile data for tracking purchases and contractual agreements
- Provide analysis for key metrics in certain markets or products, for positioning purposes
- Establish metrics for tracking logistical costs and opportunities for key operational sites
- Assist in compilation of GPAH CN Position Report
- As requested, compile, and provide market information and guidance to Members Cooperative Management & Company Owned Retail Management
- Maintain reasonable watch for quality of products procured
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, in Agriculture or Business is preferred
- Experience within fertilizer industry and procurement preferred
- 3 – 5 year’s experience in the agriculture industry preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent working knowledge of product; ability to research and forecast product needs
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal/managerial skills to deal effectively with a broad base of customers, suppliers, and location personnel
- Ability to communicate with associates and customers
- Detail oriented, with the capability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain professionalism at all times

Travel
Position requires minimal overnight travel.
