Job Description: Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Assistant Controller should be experienced in all aspects of financial management, financial reporting, budget, and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist CFO with management of accounting operations

•Coordinate and assist with the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances

•Prepare and publish timely quarterly financial statements

  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance as needed
  • Support month-end and year-end closeprocess
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage and comply with state licensing requirements
  • Work on ad hoc reports for Management

•Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internalControls

Requirements

  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • CPA preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with financial statement preparation for all types of legal entities
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process

· Experience in the Construction industry preferred

  • Experience with various accounting software administration – Timberline experience will be very helpful but not necessarily

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate

effectively
