DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Meet the maintenance needs of the facility.
• Recognize hazards to residents or staff policy and take appropriate action to maintain a safe environment according to facility policy and procedure.
• Organize and prioritize.
• Replace, repair, and purchase items according to facility policy and procedure.
• Plan and implement preventive maintenance programs and document accurately.
• Maintain weather protection against cold, heat, fire, and other hazards.
• Supervises outside contractors.
• Serve on-call for emergency and off-duty hours.
• Perform errands and tasks as required.
• Maintain upkeep of exterior of building and grounds in all weather conditions.
• Demonstrate correct safety techniques.
• Respect and take care of facility equipment and is not wasteful of supplies.
• Contribute to effective communication and pleasant working conditions.
• Contribute to and promote positive resident and family relations.
• Is knowledgeable in and ensures staff comply with Privacy Practices to protect residents’ health information.
• Follow facility policies and procedures.
• Continue growth and expand job knowledge.
• Demonstrate leadership skills.

EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of one (1) year experience in a supervisory capacity in a maintenance/plant related position preferred.
• Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Must have ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations.

EDUCATION:
Must possess, as a minimum a high school diploma.
