SUMMARY: As an Assistant District Manager for MAPCO you will have an opportunity to gain valuable multi-unit experience while learning from a seasoned District Manager. Under the District Managers supervision, you will assist with driving sales and operations for a market comprised of approximately 13 to 15 MAPCO convenience stores. You will assist the District Manager in driving top line growth for a sales budget of $10 to $20 million of store revenue and 10 to 20 million gallons of gasoline. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and a desire to continuously seek opportunities for improvement within their District. **OPPORTUNITY WILL BE LOCATED IN THE GREATER NASHVILLE, TN AREA ONLY**

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Foster a culture where the primary focus will always be on the guests' needs and providing “Convenience You Can TRUST®”.
  • Assist the District Manager in organizational development, with regards to building, training, and developing a first-class Store Management team.
  • Assist the District Manager to communicate company objectives, as necessary, ensuring that the store teams understand how the company strategy fits into their day-to-day operations.
  • Encourage an organized and process-oriented atmosphere.
  • Build collaborative relationships with Store Team Members.
  • Assist with driving sales and profitability, by providing leadership to team members and encouraging them to attain company targets associated with sales, margin, expenses, employee turnover and overall profitability.
  • Learn how to analyze store financials and operating expenditure with the goal of identifying opportunities that will maximize performance and profitability.
  • Assist with ground level recruiting to support store staffing levels to meet staffing targets.
  • At the direction of the District Manager, assist with conducting root cause analysis on issue that are impacting performance and profitability.
  • Assist with developing and implementing action plans to correct identified issues. Setting clear expectations and track results.
  • Serve as a role model to team members in and outside of stores by consistently presenting a high energy, friendly attitude to team members and guests, inspiring team members to be passionate about their job and diligently work toward their future.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Four-day work week: Friday through Monday
    • Friday: Work side by side with District Manager to plan weekend operational priorities.
    • Saturday and Sunday: Main point of contact of all Store Managers and store team members. Responsible for setting direction, coaching and teaching team members, ensuring effective scheduling for the district.
    • Monday: Planning Day with District Manager. Review Key Performance Indicators for the review, P&L review, create and follow-up on action plans to drive business results. Leverage reporting to plan the week and aid in data-driven decision making
  • Off work Tuesday through Thursday

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a demonstrated commitment to a high level of excellence and execution
  • Must be sales-oriented, customer-focused with a strong attention to detail and the ability to create impactful action plans to drive improvement

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues in an easily understood manner.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and effectively deal with ambiguity and stressful situations in a fast-paced environment, with energy, drive, and a focus on execution
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory MVR. (Drug screen required)
  • Availability to be on call 24/7 Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday each week.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of Store Management experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field, preferred.
