Assistant GIS Analyst Job at LANDVEST INC
LandVest is seeking a qualified individual that has several years of GIS coursework, particularly in ArcGIS and ArcGIS Pro, that is interested in gaining more experience in a map production environment. The assistant will gain valuable experience and mastery in the ArcGIS and ArcGIS Pro desktop environment.
The Assistant GIS Analyst is based out of LandVest’s Boston, MA Regional Office. The Assistant GIS Analyst primarily responsible for assisting the GIS Analyst with GIS consulting projects. This is a part-time position, expected 2-3 days per week (20 hours).
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist with creation of project “map sets” as needed for consulting group clients. This is the core service that we provide to LandVest and entails producing ortho, base, site analysis, and alternative lot concept plans for many clients each year.
- Assist with georeferencing of property surveys and CAD data.
- Assist with data maintenance projects for our state-by-state New England geodatabases.
- Assist with development of ArcGIS online (AGOL) resources available to the consulting group and real estate and brokerage division.
- Assist with transition from ArcGIS to ArcGIS Pro working environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Geography or another earth science, or a degree in GIS/Geospatial Information Technology (or approaching completion).
- Demonstrated experience with ArcGIS and ArcGIS Pro Desktop to create print-ready maps for integration into company documents.
- Familiarity with other ESRI products such as ArcGIS Online.
- Familiarity with Spatial Analyst, AutoCAD, Modelbuilder, or ArcPy a plus.
- Understanding of other GIS platforms (open source) such as QGIS.
This is paid hourly position at a rate commensurate with qualifications/experience.
