Job description
This is a part-time opportunity, NOT a full-time position.
Must be able available to work Mondays and Thursdays and another day.
Kumon Math and Reading Center of Mundelein is seeking a part-time Center Assistant.
We are searching for bright, motivated, and QUALIFIED individuals with EXCELLENT math and/or reading skills in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for retired teachers, high school students, college students and people who are seeking a second part-time job.
Preferred Qualifications:
*Long-term commitment a MUST (this is a year-round part-time job)
*Good instructional skills, and ability to observe, understand and communicate with children
*Ability to convey ideas and concepts simply and clearly to children
*Responsible, reliable, punctual, able to multi-task and follow directions
*Math Assistant: strong Math aptitude;
*Reading Assistant: strong proficiency in high school literature
*EL Assistant: comfortable working with preschoolers
Responsibilities included but are not limited to the following:
- Grading homework assignments and leading children with classwork
- Preparing materials for classwork, homework, data entry, and filing
- Other tasks may be required for the operation of the center
MUST be available to work the following days and times:
Mondays: 3:00pm to 7:00pm
Thursdays: 3:00pm to 7:00pm and an extra day.
