We’re looking to recruit an Assistant Head of Secondary to join our Chicago, South Loop school, a Nord Anglia Education school.

THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced, inspirational leader and highly skilled classroom practitioner to take up one of two AHT roles at BISC-SL. Please state the role you would be interested in when applying.
Role 1 - Curriculum and Academics:
- Line management of Heads of Faculty
- Oversight of Curriculum Years 7-13
- Tracking and monitoring of academic progress
- Quality assurance of curriculum offer
- Identification of opportunities for cross curricular collaboration
- Liaise with Head of Student Experience on extra-curricular learning opportunities
- Compliance with exam boards - IB and Pearson
Role 2 - Well Being and Purpose:
- Line management of Heads of Phase
- Oversight of pastoral/PSHE curriculum Years 7-13
- Behaviour for learning
- Attendance
- Collaboration with student support department
- Pastoral Advisory programme and Assembly programme.
Alongside the leadership opportunity, the successful applicant will also be expected to teach. Please state subject specialism(s) during application.
ABOUT YOU
Able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment, you will possess a university degree, a recognised teaching qualification, and considerable teaching and leadership experience. Committed and creative, you will be reflective on your own teaching and student outcomes, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative methods to raise the school’s level of achievement. You will have a proven track record of building high-functioning teams and will have the ability to inspire and motivate others.
Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for The United States of America, including a bachelor’s degree, a recognised teaching qualification, employment references, background checks, and child protection screening.

OUR GLOBAL ACADEMIC RESULTS
The 2020-2021 school year was the strongest ever in terms of Nord Anglia Education’s academic results. For the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, our students achieved a 36.2 global point average and a 98% pass rate, with over 20 students earning a perfect score of 45. In the A-levels, our students achieved 65.4% of grades at A*-A, along with 83.7% at A*-B, with a group-wide pass rate of 99.4% and seven schools achieving a perfect 100% pass rate. In this year’s I/GCSE results, 59.6% of students achieved A*-A grades, with a group-wide pass rate of 89.5% and 13 Nord Anglia schools achieving a perfect 100% pass rate
