Assistant Professor of STEM Education - The University of Texas at El Paso Job at University of Texas at El Paso
The Department of Teacher Education invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of STEM Education position with focus on Science Education to begin in Fall 2023. The successful candidate will be expected to actively conduct research and publish in the area of STEM education, pursue external funding to support research activities and provide quality teaching and advising at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels and participate in interdisciplinary activities and professional service. Our Teacher Education Department seeks a colleague who might have strengths in learning sciences perspectives in learning analytics in K-12, measurement and assessment, and quantitative research skills.
Job Requirements:
A doctoral degree in STEM education or a related field (by date of hire), the focus on Science Education is preferred; and have a record, or the potential for achieving a record of research productivity, including external funding in these areas.
Preferred: Prior educational development experience with STEM faculty, working across STEM disciplines and demonstrated evidence of teaching effectiveness at a college or university level. Experience with educational research methodologies and familiarity with the academic mission of research-intensive universities. Research expertise and preK-12 teaching experience; experience in community engagement activities, and demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and social justice.

SALARY: Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience.
