Assistant Registrar - Norwich University Job at Norwich University
Fulfills the mission of Norwich University by providing support to a range of complex functions in the Office of the Registrar involving the exercise of a high degree of judgment, accuracy, and collaboration. Responsibilities include student record management to include analyzing student progression for academic standing and degree audits at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Degree audit account management, and Office of the Registrar liaison to colleges, academic departments, and all other constituents of the University.
This position is 37.5 hours/week, 52 weeks/year.
Essential Functions
- Supports students for the residential and online academic programs
- Reviews for approval and processes graduation applications
- Analyzes degree progression and conduct outreach to each applicant
- Supports DegreeWorks with end-user training and troubleshooting
- Monitors and edits Registrar website and SharePoint content specific to position responsibilities
- Processes National Student Clearinghouse degree verifications
- Prepares and releases communication to stakeholders regarding applying to graduate, degree audits, grade reports; communication relative to academic progress
- Prepares reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Maintains record retention as it relates to academic progression
- Verifies enrollment status and degree status to external constituents
- Facilitates the coordination of materials for commencement.
- Researches and processes data requests and diploma orders.

- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive or private information.
- Communicates with employees, students, and others in a respectful and clear manner.
- Serves on University committees, councils, workgroups, or other designated bodies as assigned.
- Achieves, maintains proficiency in, and utilizes computers, telephones, and other job-related equipment, including related systems and software.
- Speaks, reads, and writes in English.
- Communicates by telephone, email, letter, in person, or other means or device.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. 2 years of college course work or higher preferred.
- Two years of professional work experience in student records or a related field (police, healthcare, etc.) preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook) and databases (i.e.: Student Information System such as Banner, Dynamic Forms, Record Management, DegreeWorks) or comparable databases
- Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, and manipulate related equipment; lift 15 pounds; travel outdoors to various parts of the campus
- Work some evening or weekend hours
Environmental Conditions
- Indoor work at a computer workstation
- Low level of exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes.
