Assistant Registrar - School of Law Job at Duquesne University
The Assistant Registrar is responsible for providing leadership and support to the operation of the School of Law Registrar’s Office. The Assistant Registrar counsels and advises students, ensures that all graduation requirements have been met, provides certification to the Pennsylvania Bar (as well as other states) for graduates and alumni, certifies Veteran students for tuition benefits, assists with coordinating the final exam process and continuously seeks and establishes procedures for improved office efficiency. The Assistant Registrar maintains the School of Law Registrar’s Office webpages and conducts system testing when system upgrades are completed. The Assistant Registrar also serves as the primary leadership role for the office in the School of Law Registrar’s absence.
As a condition of employment, Duquesne University requires all new employees —full-time and part-time, including adjunct faculty—to get a COVID-19 vaccine and provide proof of their vaccination upon commencement of employment.

Duties and Responsibilities
Counsels and advises law students. Assists with course selection and registration. Resolves registration and scheduling issues. Reviews student records to ensure accuracy and updates student academic records. Responsible for record review and determination of student degree completion. Notifies students of graduation clearance or deficiencies. Ensures adherence to FERPA.
Assists with creating policies and procedures regarding final exam administration and execution. Assists with the creation of all final exam schedules and ensures student anonymity is protected during the exam process.
Works with the Associate Dean to develop course offerings for each semester. Oversees and manages classroom assignment and scheduling and is responsible for accurate space utilization.
Acts as a certifying official for the School of Law - enrollment verifications, graduation verifications, veteran tuition verifications.
Content manager for the School of Law Registrar’s Office webpages. Ensures all information published online is accurate and up-to-date.
Assists with data collection for ABA and US News reporting.
Conducts system testing for patches/fixes and upgrades within Banner and other Duquesne systems.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree is required.
This position requires knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications as well as effective customer service, problem solving, teamwork, planning and organizational skills.
Ability to think strategically and work in a diverse environment both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to maintain a high energy level with an enthusiastic, positive approach creating an excellent rapport with prospective students and their parents, team members and other departments within the University community.

Preferred Requirements
Master's degree is preferred.
3-5 years of experience in higher education, preferably in a Registrar’s Office setting, is preferred.
Knowledge of academic policies and procedures, operating student information systems such as Banner and website content management systems are preferred.
